The body found in the destruction of a plane conveying Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson has been identified as the recently signed Cardiff City striker, BBC is detailing.
The body was pulled from an English Channel this week where Sala's plane disappeared.
The Piper Malibu airplane vanished on January 21 when Sala was on his way to
Cardiff having finished a record transfer from French's Ligue 1 side Nantes.
Sala had made a fast trek back to his previous club Nantes two days after his £15m exchange to Cardiff was reported.
As indicated by the Dorset Police:
The body conveyed to Portland Port today, Thursday 7 February 2019, has been formally identified by HM Coroner for Dorset as that of expert footballer Emiliano Sala.
The groups of Mr Sala and the pilot David Ibbotson have been refreshed with this news and will keep on being bolstered by uncommonly prepared family contact officers. Our contemplations stay with them at this troublesome time.
